How do I select the right STANLEY Hand Truck?

First select the maximum capacity you need. Next, decide if you need the convenience of a foldable truck or not. Finally, decide if you require other features like reinforced wheel guards, larger wheels, an extendable platform, or a convertible multi truck.

Should I choose a steel or aluminium STANLEY Hand Truck?

If you want the strongest, toughest Truck: go for steel. If the maximum load capacity is not your primary concern, then the lighter aluminium Trucks offer several advantages over steel. They are easier to handle and move around, more rust resistant, and even come in fully foldable models.

Should I go for a folding platform or a fixed platform?

A folding platform is usually much larger than a fixed platform. If you need to transport big bulky items, then a folding platform is ideal. If you need to move very heavy items then a fixed platform is recommended, since they tend to have a higher maximum load capacity.

What about stair climber wheels?

Stair climber wheels always have a wheel in contact with the stairs you’re moving up on. This greatly reduces the effort required to pull items up a stairway, as the Truck is always rolling and not sliding. On flat surfaces it is the other way around: there are always two wheels in contact with the ground, making a stair climber truck a little more difficult to maneuver around corners.

What handle shape do I need?

If you need to be able to operate the STANLEY Truck with one hand: go for a P-Handle or looped handle. As soon as the load becomes too heavy to be operated with one hand, you’re better off with a set of standard handles. Standard handles allow for a wider grip, giving you more control over the STANLEY Truck.

How do I select the right manual pallet truck?

First start by selecting the maximum capacity you need. Next, ask yourself which pallets you are going to transport and thus which fork size you need. Lastly, look at the frequency of use. For daily use, we recommend the Stanley Industrial Pallet Trucks. For occasional use, we recommend the Stanley Commercial Pallet Trucks.

How do I select a stacker?

You should select the right stacker based on the weight of the goods to move, on the residual lifting capacity, on the elevation you need to reach when handling the load and on the maximum height of the working site.

Working in a warehouse: what is the difference between a manual stacker and an electrical one?

Electric units are much more expensive but allow higher efficiency and a significant reduction of the operator’s effort. Manual stackers require almost no learning time from the operator. STANLEY manual stackers allow you to add a layer of up to 160cm height to you warehousing. Ideal if you intend to use this extra space for long term storage that you do not need access to daily.

 What about workplace safety?

Stanley Material handling equipment is thoroughly tested to meet the given product specifications. Moreover, all the pumps feature an overflow valve to avoid damage even when the equipment is overloaded.

What size forks should I select?

The forks size you need depends on the pallet size and the number of pallets you wish to be able to move in one go. Your location and industry dictate the default pallet size used. Generally speaking, 1150x525mm is a universal size, albeit a little less stable on wider loads.

How should I handle rough surfaces?

STANLEY Industrial Pallet trucks have rubber wheels that allow them to cross small bumps and obstacles. However, they are by no means intended for tall steps, loose sand or other very rough surfaces. These conditions call for a STANLEY Hand Truck with larger (pneumatic) wheels.
